4 Taliban Members Killed in Kapisa; The Group Arrests 30 Civilians

The attack by the National Resistance Front (NRF) left at least four Taliban members killed and 5 others wounded, a source from NRF confirmed to Kabul Now.

According to the source, the attack was carried out on a Taliban base at 8:00 PM on Thursday, December 08 in Kalalan village in the Hess-e-awal Kohistan district of northeastern Kapisa province.

The targeted Taliban base in this attack belonged to Alim Kohistani, a former soldier.

The source added that NRF forces had no causalities in this attack.

At the same time, a reliable source told Kabul Now that after this attack, the Taliban invaded Kalalan and Koch-e-Sangalakh and arrested more than 30 residents of these two villages and took them to an unknown place.

The Taliban local officials in Kapisa province have not responded to Kabul Now’s reporter about the incident. They have not commented as of yet.

NRF is a militia group formed of former security forces under the leadership of Ahmad Massoud, son of the former Jihadi commander Ahmad Shah Massoud.

NRF has challenged the Taliban in deadly battles in several provinces, including the Panjshir, Baghlan, Takhar, and Badakhshan provinces, many times since the Taliban takeover of Afghanistan.

Since their return to power, the Taliban have often been accused of detaining and torturing civilians.

The group, however, has rejected these accusations. The battle has decreased between the Taliban and NRF forces as the winter is approaching.
