200 men and youths have been arrested by the Taliban in the Rokha and Abshar districts of Panjshir province, a local source told Kabul Now.

Last night Thursday, October 13, 2022, the Taliban arrested this number of people in “Bakhshikhel”, “Bahadurkhel”, and “Qaabzan” villages of Rokha district and “Baba Ali”, “Jir Ali” and “Sangi Khan” villages belonging to Abshar district of Panjshir province, the source added.

The Taliban have arrested the youths in Rokha district on the charges of planting landmines on the “Darkhel Road” and planning for a guerrilla attack, sources further confirmed to Kabul Now.

Another source says that the Taliban had a clash last night in Din Mohammad Joraat’s house, as a result of which one of the Taliban members was injured. The source added that after this conflict, the Taliban arrested the youth in the Rokha district and they want to show that the injured person was targeted by the people related to the “Resistance Front” forces.

However, the sources add that the Taliban released some of these youths around 12:00 PM, but 60 of them are still in Taliban custody. A decision will be made about the fate of these young people, the Taliban have said today.

Residents of the area told Kabul Now that the Taliban arrested these youths with no “guilt” and that the planting of landmines and the intention of a guerrilla attack are the excuses made by the Taliban to arrest the youths.

On the other hand, sources from the Abshar district of Panjshir province told Kabul Now that a Taliban member was killed last night in an ambush by “Resistance Front” forces in this district.
