US gave three UH-60 Black Hawk helicopters to Afghan forces

The US government gave three UH-60 Black Hawk helicopters to the Afghan Air Force, said Ajmal Omar Shinwari, a spokesperson for the country’s defense and security forces. The Afghan Air Force received the helicopters today, July 17, he said in a tweet.

On July 15, the Ministry of Defense announced that seven helicopters were formally handed over to the Afghan Air Force by the US. Fawad Aman, spokesperson for the ministry said, more helicopters will be given to the Afghan Air Force in the coming months.

On June 29, Shinwari said the US government pledged to hand over 45 different military helicopters and seven A29 fighter jets to Afghan air forces.
