Civilians killed in crossfire of government forces with the Taliban in Ghazni

Four civilians were killed and two others wounded in crossfires between government forces and the Taliban militants in southern Ghazni province, a local security official confirmed.

Safi Hazara, head of PD6 in Ghazni, said the incident took place on Saturday, July 03, in Qala e Kholkhak area of the province.

A woman was among those killed, he added.

The army commandos have killed as many as 14 Taliban militants, who had taken up positions inside a mosque in the area, and wounded two others, he detailed.

The Taliban, however, have not commented on the incident so far.

Ghazni is one of the most insecure provinces where the Taliban militants operate actively in swaths of territories. The militants have ousted as many as seven districts since June 04.
