Three civilians were killed and three others were wounded after an airstrike hit a residential house in Najrab district of the northern Kapisa province, local officials in Kapisa confirmed.
Abdul Qudus Mojadadi, the district governor for Najrab, said the incident took place yesterday evening, July 25, in Kenjak Kharej Dara village of the district.
The Afghan air force targeted the house after the Taliban were stationed there, Mojadadi said.
A number of Taliban militants were killed and wounded during the attack. He, however, did not provide any figures on the Taliban casualties.
The Taliban has not commented on the incident so far.
Located to north of the capital Kabul, Kapisa is a volatile province where the Taliban operate in parts of the province including Najrab district.
