Ministerial budgets worth billions of dollars remain unspent: Ghani

President Ashraf Ghani, while speaking at an event convened to mark the Educational Week, said ministerial budgets worth millions of dollars remain unspent. “1.6 billion dollars are blocked only in two organizations,” Ghani underlined.

He said in the year to come if any ministry fails to spend its budget in line with its developmental schemes, the unspent budget will be transformed to other government organizations. He called on the group to take part in the development of the country.

A new chapter on relations between Afghanistan and the international community is about to begin and Afghanistan must get full preparation for expanding regional cooperation, he said.

“The region’s view on Afghanistan has undergone a change and the region’s future development is tied to Afghanistan,” the President asserted.
