Gunmen assassinate school teacher in Kabul

Unknown armed men shot dead a school teacher last night, Tuesday, around 09:00 PM in Sara-e-Shamali neighborhood of Kabul city, a security source confirmed to Kabul Now.

The source, who spoke on condition of anonymity, identified the victim as “Roheen”, adding that he was a teacher at a private school in the capital Kabul.

The motive of the assassination remains unclear, according to the source.

According to the source, the police have already undertaken efforts to identify the perpetrators and arrest them.

Afghanistan, particularly, Kabul has seen a dramatic rise in targeted killings recently which mostly go unclaimed.

The government, however, blames the Taliban for such targeted violence.
