Afghanistan has produced at least 6,300 tons of poppies in 1399 (solar year), which shows a 37 percent increase as compared to the previous year.
According to a joint survey conducted by National Statistics and Information Authority (NSIA) and the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime (UNODC) nearly 224,000 hectares of land were used for poppy cultivation in the year 1399.
