Ghor car bombing

Car bombing kills 12 and wounds 100 in Ghor province

As many as 12 people were killed and 100 others wounded as a result of car bomb explosion in Ferozkoh, capital city of the central Ghor province, this morning, October 18, said Tariq Arian, spokesperson for the Ministry of Interior (MoI). Most of the victims are reportedly civilians.

The MoI described the attack as a “massive and unforgivable” crime.

According to the MoI, a car laden with explosives was detonated around 11:00 AM this morning in front of Ghor’s Department of Women Affairs which is close to the entry gate of the province’s police department. Buildings surrounding the attack site have been damaged as a result of this huge explosion.

Locals told Kabul Now that the explosion was heard even two kilo meters away from the blast site.

No group has claimed responsibility for the attack.

Though Afghan security officials have not blamed any group for the deadly attack, the Taliban have expanded their militancy in the province where they have carried out some deadly attacks in recent years.
