Blast claimed by Taliban kills two police forces in Kabul

A blast claimed by Taliban killed two police forces and wounded three others, the Ministry of Interior (MoI) confirmed.

Nasrat Rahimi, spokesperson for the Ministry of Interior (MoI), confirmed that two police forces were killed and three others wounded after a planted bomb went off close to their outpost in PD 16 of Kabul city.

According to Rahimi, the incident took place around 4:30 AM on Thursday.

Issuing a statement, the Taliban claimed responsibility for the attack, saying that six police forces were killed and wounded in the attack.

The attack comes days after 20 people were killed and 50 others wounded in a suicide bombing and gun battle at office of Amrullah Saleh, a running mate of president Ghani as vice presidential candidate.

Although no group claimed responsibility for attack on Saleh’s office, the Presidential Palace attributed it to the Taliban in a statement issued on Wednesday.
