Body of Young Driver Found in Samangan

Taliban officials in Samangan province have confirmed that the body of a young driver who was abducted two weeks ago has been found.

The victim, identified as 22-year-old Gul Mohammad, was a resident of Gul-Qashlaq in Aybak city and worked as a taxi driver in the area.

Hashmatullah Rahmani, spokesperson for the Taliban’s police command in Samangan, said that Gul Mohammad had been kidnapped two weeks earlier. His body was recovered on Monday (December 1) from a pit in Hazrat Sultan district.

According to Rahmani, the abductors also took the victim’s vehicle.

The motive behind the killing remains unclear, and no arrest have been made so far.

Despite the Taliban’s claims of nationwide security, incidents of criminal violence and killings continue to be reported across the country.
