A Young Man Killed in Uruzgan, Elderly Man’s Body Found in Zabul

Local Taliban officials and community sources report that a young man has been killed in Uruzgan, while the body of an elderly man has been discovered in Zabul.

According to the Taliban’s provincial police command in Uruzgan, a young man was shot dead on Thursday (December 4) in Chora district. Local sources identified the victim as Samiullah, originally from Gizab district.

Sources say he was killed during a confrontation with armed individuals. The Taliban police command stated that two people have been arrested in connection with the incident, adding that the motive appears to be a “personal dispute.”

Meanwhile, local sources in Zabul say the body of an elderly man was found on Thursday in Shahjoy distrcit. Residents reported discovering the body in the district’s main market.

The identity of the victim and the reason behind his killing remain unknown.

Reports of killings have risen in recent weeks across various provinces. Just a day earlier, the body of another man was found in Helmand province.
