Beheaded Body of a Man Found in Zabul

Taliban security officials in Zabul say the decapitated body of a shopkeeper named Mohammad Hashim has been found in Qalat, the provincial capital.

According to the provincial police command, the shopkeeper went missing last night from his workplace, and his body was discovered on Monday morning (November 17) in the village of Khala Qalaa.

The Taliban police said the man was first stabbed to death and then beheaded.

The motive behind the killing and the identity of those responsible remain unknown.

The Taliban have transferred Mohammad Hashim’s body to a hospital and said efforts are underway to identify the perpetrators.

Since the Taliban’s return to power, multiple similar killings have been reported across Afghanistan, often carried out by unidentified armed individuals, with Taliban rarely announcing arrests or prosecutions.
