Taliban Member Killed While Attempting to Enter House in Laghman

KABUL, AFGHANISTAN – A Taliban fighter was shot and killed by a homeowner while trying to secretly enter his house in eastern Laghman province, local sources report.

According to sources who spoke to KabulNow, the incident took place on Thursday night, May 15, in the Alingar district.

The sources identified the Taliban fighter as Jamil Ahmad, a member of the Taliban’s intelligence unit in the district. He was reportedly affiliated with a local Taliban commander named Mufti Ziaullah Sangar.

The motive behind the attempted entry remains unclear. However, sources say Taliban forces have arrested the homeowner for questioning.

Local Taliban authorities have not commented on the incident.

Similar incidents have occurred in recent years, with Taliban members reportedly entering private homes without notice. In a previous case in Kunar province, a Taliban commander was stabbed and killed under similar circumstances.
