Two Taliban Members Killed in Armed Attack in Eastern Afghanistan

KABUL, AFGHANISTAN – Two Taliban members were fatally shot by an unidentified gunman in an armed attack in Nangarhar province, between the Kama and Gashta districts, local sources confirmed.

The attack took place on Monday, October 21, near the village of Sangar Sarai. The assailant reportedly opened fire on two Taliban fighters as they rode a motorcycle, killing both on the spot.

The gunman then fled the scene, taking the motorcycle and weapons belonging to the Taliban members, according to the source.

While Taliban officials in Nangarhar have not yet issued an official statement, group members confirmed the incident in a WhatsApp group, identifying the attacker as a man named Hamza. They also circulated his photo, urging their forces to assist in his capture.

As of now, no group has claimed responsibility for the attack.
