Former Jihadi Commander Shot Dead in Nangarhar Province

Local sources said that a former jihadi commander was shot dead by unidentified assailants in Jalalabad city, capital of eastern Nangarhar province.

Sources told KabulNow that the victim, identified as Shaikh Muqaddas Bilal, was killed in front of his wife and children inside his car on Saturday afternoon in the PD 7th area of Jalalabad.

He hailed from Buro village in Nangarhar’s Rudath district.

The motive behind the killing is unclear.

No individual or group has claimed responsibility for the attack so far.

More information was not available immediately.

Taliban authorities in the province are yet to comment.
