Traffic accident kills child and injures dozens in Kunduz province

Taliban health officials in northern Kunduz province have reported that an eight-year-old child was killed and 45 others were injured in a traffic accident in Imam Sahib district of the province.

In a newsletter on Thursday, the Taliban Directorate of Public Health in Kunduz stated that the accident occurred on Wednesday afternoon at around 2:20 PM in the village of Kohna Qala of Imam Sahib district.

The local Taliban officials have attributed the accident to the driver’s reckless driving and excessive speed.

The health conditions of some of the injured are reported to be critical, and they have been taken to Kunduz Provincial Hospital for further treatment.

Traffic accidents have increased in Afghanistan in recent months. Poor road conditions, driver carelessness, high speed, high speed, and non-compliance with traffic regulations are some of the main factors that contribute to traffic accidents in the country.
