Traffic accident kills three people in Badghis province

Local Taliban officials in Badghis province, in northwestern Afghanistan, have reported that three people were killed in a traffic accident on Friday morning.

According to the spokesman of the Taliban governor in Badghis, Ahmad Jan Hanzala, the accident occurred on the Herat-Badghis highway in the Band-e Sabzak neighborhood of the province when a Khawar-type cargo car veered off the road due to excessive speed and overturned, killing three people on board.

On Wednesday, two people were killed and six others were injured in three separate traffic accidents in northeastern Badakhshan province.

Traffic accidents have increased in Afghanistan in recent months. Poor road conditions, driver carelessness, high speed, and non-compliance with traffic regulations are some of the main factors that contribute to traffic accidents in the country.
