Local Taliban officials in central Samangan province have reported that three people, including two women, were killed and five critically injured in a traffic accident on Sunday morning.
Taliban’s head of the traffic department in the province, Jawad Muhajir, stated that the accident occurred in the capital Aybak city when a vehicle heading toward Baghlan province collided.
The injured passengers were taken to a hospital in Balkh province for treatment, local health officials said.
On Friday, another traffic accident in the Sighanchi neighborhood of Samangan province killed one person and wounded two others.
There has been a surge in traffic accidents in Afghanistan. Poor road conditions, driver carelessness, and non-compliance with traffic regulations contribute to the increasing number of accidents.
