Local sources in western Farah province have reported that Iranian border guards have killed one and injured several at the Iran-Afghanistan border.
The incident occurred on Wednesday when a group of young individuals attempted to illegally enter Iran, according to the sources.
The victim has been identified as Gholam Nabi, a resident of Farah City.
Taliban officials in Farah have not yet commented on the incident.
A similar incident happened in Nimruz province last week when Iranian border guards opened fire on people trying to enter Iran, resulting in the deaths of four and injuries to one.
Thousands of people from across the Iranian border daily, seeking employment opportunities, escaping the Taliban, or being smuggled to European countries. They often face harsh treatment by Iranian police and border guards, which has sometimes led to deaths.
