Armed robbers injure two and steal $35,000 from gold store in Takhar province

Armed robbers targeted a gold store in Taleqan City, the capital of northern Takhar province on Wednesday, resulting in the injury of two gold sellers and the robbery of three million Afghanis ($35,000), as confirmed by local sources.

A source told KabulNow that the armed robbers engaged in a physical altercation with the gold sellers after entering the store. The robbers reportedly shot and injured two of the sellers and stole the money.

Mubeen Safi, the spokesperson for the Taliban security command in Takhar, confirmed the incident and claimed that the robbers had been apprehended.

Following the Taliban’s return to power in Afghanistan, there has been a substantial increase in incidents of armed robbery in Kabul and other provinces, leading to widespread concern among the citizens of the country.
