Two women found dead in Faryab province

Local sources in the capital Maymana city of Faryab province said that two women were found dead in a lake in the PD 8 area of the city on Thursday.

The women, identified as 19 and another 36 years old, were tortured and suffocated to death under “brutal circumstances” and their bodies were dumped in a lake. Later, the bodies were discovered by a passerby shepherd.

The corpses were taken to the provincial Faryab Hospital where they are kept in a mortuary.

The identity of the victims is unknown.

Hamidullah Butshekan, Taliban’s security spokesperson in the province, confirmed the killing of the two women and said that an investigation is underway to determine the motive behind it.
