Unknown gunmen kill cleric in Baghlan province

Taliban’s security officials in Baghlan province have reported that a cleric has been killed by unknown assailants in Nahrin district of Baghlan province.

According to Sher Ahmad Burhani, Taliban’s spokesman in the province, the victim, identified as Nooruddin, was killed on Friday night around 8:00 pm in Hafiz Bacha village of the district.

The Taliban spokesperson said an investigation is underway into the murder, but the reasons for the killing are unknown.

However, a local source told KabulNow that Nooruddin was shot dead while returning from a gathering.
