Traffic accident kills two and injures six in Faryab province

A traffic accident in the Pashtun Kot district of the northern Faryab province killed at least two and wounded six others when a passenger coach bus deviated from its route and collided, officials said.

A man and a woman died in the accident and six were injured, including women, said Ahmad Fahim Kohi, Taliban’s traffic official in the province.

Kohi added that the accident occurred on Monday when the passenger bus was heading toward the capital Maimana City from Pir Khisht village.

Last week, at least two people were killed and three others injured when a coach collided in the Bandar district of Faryab.

Poor road infrastructure, drivers’ negligence, and non-compliance with driving regulations are among the contributing factors to traffic accidents in Afghanistan.
