Taliban announces quarterly tax cuts to boost economic growth

The Taliban’s Ministry of Finance has announced a quarterly tax cut for private sector. The deduction in tax is effective for the 2023 financial year.

The Ministry said in a statement Monday, that the quarterly tax will decrease to two percent, from the previous four percent, applied to universities, schools, and other private educational institutions for the current financial year.

Additionally, a seven percent contract tax will be waived for the agriculture, industrial, and commercial sectors.

The statement also reads that businessmen and industrialists will be facilitated to obtain visas through the assistance of the Ministries of Foreign Affairs and Commerce and Industry.
