Son and nephew of a former army commander killed in Iran

Local sources in the Pashtun Kot district of Faryab province have said that two teenage boys, a son and a nephew of a former army commander, were killed by unknown assailants in Iran.

The victims, identified as Abdul Hadi, the son of former commander, and Mohammad Amin, were around 18 years old and hailed from the district’s Daray-ye Akhzi village.

The source noted that the teenage boys, who were hired as guards in northern Iran last week, were brutally killed by unknown men.

Following the return of the Taliban the boys dropped out of school and fled to Iran, the source said.

Bodies of the victims remain in Iran and have not been transferred to their families in Afghanistan.

The motive behind the killing is unclear.
