Trump: Putin ‘got a little more ambition’ after US withdrawal from Afghanistan

Former US President, Donald Trump, has suggested that, the Russian President, Vladimir Putin, “got a little more ambition” after the United States withdrew from Afghanistan in 2021.

In an interview with Mark Levin on Fox News, reported by The Hill, Trump criticised the way the US withdrew from Afghanistan and claimed that Putin saw the situation as an opportunity. Trump also suggested that Joint Chiefs of Staff Chairman Gen. Mark Milley should be court-martialed over the withdrawal.

Trump’s opponents, including Joe Biden, have criticised his administration for negotiating and signing the Doha Deal with the Taliban, which paved the way for the group’s return to power in August 2021.

The Biden administration, however, has been fiercely criticised for its handling of the withdrawal, which is currently being investigated by the Congress’s House Foreign Affairs Committee.
