Taliban security agents detain two Hazara doctors in Parwan province

Sources in Parwan provice’s Sheikh Ali district have told KabulNow that Taliban agents have detained two medical doctors on Wednesday.

The doctors, an anesthetist and a pharmacist, at a local hospital have not been named, and the circumstances of their arrests remain unknown. However, a person who wished to remain anonymous told KabulNow that the two men had been detained due to their ethnicity.

“They belong to the Hazara community and were targeted because of that. The head of the hospital is a Pashtun who doesn’t like Hazaras and hence reported the doctors to Taliban intelligence agents,” the person said.

Another source familiar with the matter mentioned that the hospital manager had previously threatened to dismiss them.

Local Taliban officials did not respond.
