Man kills wife and injures his children in Nangarhar province

According to Taliban security officials in the easter Nangarhar province’s Surkhrud district, a man shot and killed his wife and injured his two sons and a daughter on Tuesday.

Taliban security command spokesman Abdul Sabor Zabuli said that their forces arrived at the scene after the incident and took the wounded to the hospital for treatment. The perpetrator, identified as Amrullah, fled the scene and efforts to apprehend him have been unsuccessful.

The exponential rise in family violence since the Taliban took control of Afghanistan in August 2021 has led to murder and suicide in several provinces, including Nangarhar.
