Heather Barr, Associate Women’s Rights Director at Human Rights Watch (HRW), criticized AlJazeera for publishing an article by the Taliban’s Foreign Minister, Amir Khan Muttaqi.
“Shame on you, AlJazeera, for offering up your platform for the Taliban to spout unchallenged lies,” HRW Director tweeted on Friday using the hashtag #genderapartheid.
This Thursday, an article written by the Taliban’s Foreign Minister, Amir Khan Muttaqi, was published by Al Jazeera TV. In the article, Muttaqi wrote about group’s readiness for collaboration with the United States, if the sanctions against the group are lifted.
