A source in Afghanistan’s western province of Nimroz has confirmed to KabulNow that the Taliban has detained a member of the Iranian border force on Monday.
The Iranian officer had reportedly stepped inside the Afghan border.
A video posted on social media apparently shows two Taliban soldiers beating the Iranian officer as he is led away.

According to a source, the Iranian officer, identified as Shahab Dewana, was driven into Afghanistan after an argument with the driver.
The incident comes the day after Iran accepted the Taliban’s diplomats at the Afghan embassy in Tehran.
Both Iran and the Taliban have not commented.
