Dozens of people rushed to Kabul airport last night after a rumour that planes were waiting to take people out of Afghanistan to Turkey.
The Taliban quickly dispersed the crowd. A video circulating on social media apparently shows Taliban fighters ridiculing the crowd and shooting in the air.
Reacting to last night’s events, Sibghatullah Ahmadi, the spokesperson for the armed anti-Taliban group National Resistance Front of Afghanistan (NRF), said:
“Afghanistan has become a big prison. The Taliban members are vicious and sick murderers who enjoy torturing and murdering people. I am certain will face the peoples’ court the day after we achieve freedom.”
