Taliban’s Director of Agriculture Killed in Kunar

Local sources in eastern Kunar province report that Mawlawi Ezatullah Hedayat, the director of agriculture of this province has been killed as a result of an armed attack.

The sources, who chose to stay anonymous, told Kabul Now that the mentioned Taliban member was shot dead by an unknown armed person on Tuesday, November 22 near the city of Asadabad, the center of Kunar province.

Mawlawi Ezatullah Hedayat was reportedly killed due to an armed clash that erupted among the members of the Taliban group.

At the same time, Qari Najibullah Hanif, the spokesman of the Taliban governor in Kunar, confirmed the death of the director of agriculture of Kunar province.

According to the Taliban spokesperson in Kunar, Mawlawi Ezatullah Hedayat was on leave at his home and the cause of his death is said to be heart disease.

Qari Najibullah Hanif denied the murder of this Taliban member and emphasized his death cause was the heart disease.

Mawlawi Ezatullah Hedayat was the resident of Logar province and after the Taliban returned to power, he was appointed as the director of agriculture in Kunar province.
