According to the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR), about 3.4 million people are internally displaced throughout Afghanistan.

Displacement continues in Afghanistan and many Afghans seek asylums, according to UNHCR. Afghans make up 2.8 million refugees in the world, the UNHCR reports.

This organization has emphasized the vital need for financial and humanitarian support for the resettlement of Afghan refugees in the host countries.

The recent wars and droughts have led to the displacement of the country’s citizens. Taliban’s return to power also led to the large-scale migration of Afghan citizens, and the majority of migrants were forced to migrate to neighbouring countries, Iran and Pakistan. The situation of the Afghan immigrants in these two countries is reported alarming and they are in need of immediate help.
