Taliban kill two young men after detention in Kabul

The Taliban have killed two young men after keeping them in detention for several days in Kabul, a source told Kabul Now. The two victims are from Anaba district of Panjshir province.

One of the victims, identified as Abdul Hamid, went missing after making an argument with some Taliban forces in Kulula Pushta neighborhood of Kabul 11 days ago. His family was informed on Wednesday, October 13, about the dead body of Hamid in a hospital via a phone call, according to the source.

The victim has been shot dead with five bullets and didn’t have any connection with the Taliban’s opposition forces, as per the account of his relatives.

The other victim, identified as Sallahuddin, was tortured to death in the Taliban’s intelligence directorate in Kabul.

The Taliban had arrested him one month earlier in Shahr-e-Naw neighborhood and handed over his dead body to his family on Monday, October 10, a source said.

Moreover, sources confirmed to Kabul Now, that the Taliban forces have arrested a number of young men over the past few days from Islam Qala border-crossing in Herat. They have been taken to the Taliban’s intelligence directorate in Kabul.

The Taliban have been often accused of extrajudicial killings and war crimes since the group’s return to power in August 2021.
