A Taliban Member Killed by ‘Two Locals’ in Sar-e-Pul

Sources in the northern Sar-e-Pul province confirmed to Kabul Now that “two locals” of Kohistanat district killed a Taliban member last Sunday in the district. Confirming the incident, a local Taliban official said that the assailants were captured.

According to these sources, the Taliban member killed is Mohammadullah, who worked with the Taliban’s police headquarters in Kohistanat district. He was killed on Sunday, October 30, in the Qarghitoo valley of the district while making his way home from the headquarters.

Speaking with Kabul Now, Mohammad Ibrahim Mukallaf, spokesperson for the Taliban’s governor in Sar-e-Pul, said that the assailants were arrested. He added that the movement behind this incident is not yet clear.

At least five people were killed and two others wounded over a land dispute in the same province on Saturday, October 29th.
