Taliban shadow governor for Bamyan was killed

Mulawi Anas, Taliban shadow governor for the central Bamyan province, along with his 40 militants were killed and 30 others were wounded in an airstrike in Dara e Suf district of Samangan province, the Ministry of Defense confirmed.

Fawad Aman, spokesperson for the Ministry, tweeted today, Wednesday, August 04, that 15 vehicles and a large quantity of Taliban weapons were also destroyed in the airstrike.

The Taliban however has denied the news Mulawi Anas’ death.    

The airstrikes were carried out in Dare Suf as the district was recaptured by the security and defense forces late last month after the Taliban’s brief takeover.
