12 civilians killed in Paktia, Taliban abducted policewomen in Ghazni

At least 12 civilians were killed after their riding vehicle hit a roadside bomb planted by the Taliban in Sayed Karam district of Paktia province, police confirmed.

A statement published by Paktia police said the incident took place on Saturday evening, August 07, in Chinu village of Sayed Karam district.

Children and women were among those who lost their lives.

The Taliban has not commented on the incident so far.

Located in the southeast of the country, Paktia is one of the most volatile provinces where the Taliban actively operate, particularly in the districts bordering Pakistan.

On the other hand, the Taliban have abducted two policewomen in southern Ghazni city. A source, who spoke on the condition of anonymity, today, August 08, told Kabul Now that the policewomen were abducted from Sai Ganj area of PD1 of Ghazni city. The Taliban are behind the abduction, according to the source.
