Three killed in separate incidents in Kabul

At least three people including an Afghan pilot were killed and one other wounded in three separate incidents in the capital Kabul, a security source said, today, July 11.

Ferdaws Faramarz, the spokesperson for Kabul police, however, said the victim was a security official and not a pilot.

The Taliban has claimed responsibility for the death of the security official.

Ahmad Zia Zia, a deputy spokesman for the Interior Ministry, told Kabul Now the victim was an army soldier.

In another incident, around 8:00 am today, two soldiers were targeted by unknown armed men in Qala e Ahmad Khan, PD16, leaving one dead and the other wounded.

According to Zia, the victims were members of a prison security. He, however, refused to give details.

No individual or group has claimed responsibility for this attack.

In a separate incident, a roadside bomb went off in Chashma Kotal, PD17, Kabul. No casualty was reported.

In another incident, an athlete was killed in a clash that happened at a wedding party in PD17, yesterday evening on July 10.

In connection with the murder of the athlete, seven people were arrested. An investigation is underway, Faramarz said.
