Radars bought from France arrived in Kabul

The first shipment of radars has arrived in Kabul, Afghanistan Civil Aviation Authority (ACAA) said in a statement issued today, July 17. The shipment contained three radar tripods which will be installed in 12 locations across the country, according to the statement.

The installation contract worth 112 million Euros has been signed between the ACAA and Thales Group, a French multinational company.

According to the statement, these radars will enable Afghanistan to control the country’s airspace.

Prior to this, the country’s airspace was controlled by Resolute Support Mission, which now has been transferred to ACAA.
