Roadside bomb kills 11 civilians in Badghis

11 civilians including women and children were killed after their riding vehicle hit a roadside bomb in Gandab and Cheranak villages of Ab Kamari district in Badghis province, local officials confirmed.

Hessamuddin Shams, Badghis governor, said the incident took place on Saturday, June 05.

The minibus carrying the passengers fell off cliff to the valley after the explosion, he said, adding that the death toll could rise.

No individual or group has claimed responsibility for the attack.

The violence is on a dramatic rise in different ways across the country as the foreign troops are withdrawing Afghanistan.

Two days ago, on June 04, seven army soldiers were killed and two others wounded as a result of Taliban attacks in Jawand district of the province.

Located in northwest of the country, Badghis is a volatile province, where the Taliban militants control swathes of territories.
