Daily Covid-19 deaths in Afghanistan

Daily Covid-19 deaths cross 100-mark in Afghanistan

The daily record of Covid-19 deaths crossed the 100-mark for the first time in Afghanistan with the Ministry of Public Health (MoPH) reported 101 new deaths and 2,313 infections over past 24 hours.

With the newly confirmed deaths and infections, the total number those who died of the coronavirus has reached 3,943 and those who fallen ill with the pandemic disease has raised to 98,844, according to updates provided by the MoPH.

Both, the deaths and infections, are the highest tolls since the country reported its first case of coronavirus in the western Herat province on February 24, 2020.

A total of 301 Covid-19 patients have recovered from the disease over past 24 hours which increases the total number those recovered to 62,397 people across the country.

The real Covid-19 deaths and infections seem to be much higher since the country’s health system is not capable of tracking the virus and has a low testing capacity.
