US envoy for Afghanistan peace met with Tajik leader

Zalmay Khalilzad, US Special Representative for Afghanistan Reconciliation, met with Tajikistan President, Emomali Rahman, in the Tajik capital Dushanbe on Tuesday, May 04, Khovar, a state-run news agency in Tajikistan, reported.

President Rahman vowed that his country would support the Afghan peace process. Tajikistan will continue its efforts to help Afghanistan rebuild its economy and restore a durable peace, he said.

The Tajik President and US envoy for Afghanistan peace exchanged views of Afghan peace-related issues, counterterrorism, and regional security.
