Father and son killed in Badghis

A father along with his son were killed by security forces in Ab Kamari district of Badghis province, a local official said.

Khodadad Tayeb, the district governor for Ab Kamari, said the incident took place on Friday evening, May 28, in Ganda Ab area of the district when the victims, who were driving a car, did not stop on security notice.

Their bodies were taken to Qala e Naw provincial hospital.

Relatives of the victims have protested demanding the arrest of those who opened fire at their relatives.

Reacting to the incident, Abdul Aziz Baig, head of Badghis Provincial Council, said targeting civilians will widen the gap between people and the government.

Located in the northwestern part of the country, Badghis is a volatile province.
