Afghanistan’s sesame production is growing

Afghanistan produced nearly 41,855 metric tons of sesame in 1399 (solar year), said the Ministry of Agriculture, Irrigation, and Livestock (MAIL), today, Monday, May 24.

65 hectares of land were used across the country for sesame cultivation, said a statement issued by the MAIL.

Faryab, Jawzjan, Sar-e-Pul, Balkh, Samangan, Kunduz, Takhar, Baghlan, and Helmand are among the top sesame-producing provinces in Afghanistan.

Afghanistan’s sesame has a local demand and it is also widely demanded by the international markets.
