Three policemen killed in Urozgan

Three policemen were killed and another one wounded in a Taliban attack in the southern Urozgan province, a local official said.

Mohammad Omar Sherzad, the governor for Urozgan, said the incident took place on Sunday, April 25, after a security checkpoint in Dehrawood district came under Taliban attack.

Another policeman was reportedly missing.

Two Taliban militants were reportedly killed and three others wounded in clashes erupted between the Afghan security forces and the Taliban militants, according to the governor.

The Taliban claimed that their militants have killed four Afghan security forces, wounded five others, and seized some ammunition.

Located in the south of the country, Urozgan is an insecure province where the insurgent group controls swathes of territories.
