Five members of Afghanistan’s all-girl robotic team become member of Forbes Under 30 Asia 2021, Forbes magazine reported today, Tuesday, April 21.
The five teenage girls, aged between 15 and 19, are Sumaya Farooqi, Ayda Haidarpour, Elham Mansour, Florance Poya, and Diana Wahabzada.
Five teenage girls developed a low-cost, lightweight ventilator to help treat patients diagnosed with Covid-19 in Afghanistan. The Ministry of Public Health tested their ventilator that is highly expected to be used in the future.
Sumaya Farooqi, 17, told Kabul Now that they are working to invent a robot for cleaning landmines and the result will come out in less than a month.
In 2017, the all-girl robotic team of Afghanistan participated in World Championship in Washington DC and won a silver medal. They have also participated in a number of other regional contests.
