Dispute over water leaves two dead and four wounded in Parwan

Two people lost their lives and four others were injured after a dispute over water turned violent in Shinwari district of the northern Parwan province, a local official said today, Sunday, April 11.

Mohammad Sadeq Hashimi, the head of the crime branch at the Parwan police department, confirmed the incident took place on Saturday, April 10, in Ashtar Shahr village of Shinwari district.

Two families had disputes over water in a Taliban-controlled area and their dispute turned violent after they did not reach a peaceful settlement over sharing water, according to Hashimi.

The Taliban militants maintain a light footprint in Shinwari district of Parwan province.
