Taliban red unti fighters killed in Nangarhar

Three female media workers killed in Nangarhar

Three female workers of a local television channel were killed in two separate attacks in the eastern city of Jalalabad, the capital of Nangarhar Province, a local security source said on Tuesday, March 02.

Kabul Now’s reporter confirmed that two employees of Enikass TV were killed on Tuesday afternoon in Jalalabad city. Another media worker was killed in a separate shooting in Qasbeh area of Jalalabad.

Farid Khan, the spokesperson for Nangarhar police, told Kabul Now that three female employees of Enikass TV were shot dead by unknown gunmen in two separate incidents.

No group has claimed responsibility so far.

In December last year, gunmen killed Malalai Maiwand, a female presenter of Enikass TV in Jalalabad.

Attacks on media workers have increased in recent months. Afghan security officials blame the Taliban for attacks against the journalists, a charge the Taliban deny.
