Taliban kill two civilians and wound six university lecturers in Baghlan

A student and a bus driver were killed and six Baghlan university lecturers wounded after the Taliban militants attacked their riding bus in Pul-e-Khumri, the capital city of the northern Baghlan province, a local official said.

Talking to Kabul Now, the spokesperson for Baghlan Police Chief, Jawid Besharat, said that the incident took place today, Tuesday, March 16, in Hussain Khel area of Pul-e-Khumri. He added that the Taliban militants attacked the vehicle while it was taking students and lecturers of Baghlan University to the university.

The Taliban, however, has rejected the attack and denounced it.

Baghlan is an insecure province where the Taliban militants control swaths of territories and occasionally launch attacks against the local government in its capital city.
